Fiber Arts - 39404061

Create one of a kind scarves, bags and paper using natural print and dye processes.
Great techniques for Fiber Artists, Bookbinders and More!
Eco Printing is a technique where plants, leaves and flowers are bundled with a textile or paper to make a contact print, leaving the plants shapes, colors and textures. The bundles are steamed or simmered along with a fixative to release the naturally occurring dyes found inside the plants creating a work of art both natural and unique.
In the first half of the class students will prep their fabric bundles for a simmer process which takes 2-3 hrs depending on the fabric type. Students can un-wrap their bundles right away or return the next day for their eco art.
