Learn to Swim
Learn to Swim
Today, the Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program helps fulfill that mission by teaching people to be safe in, on and around the water through water safety courses, water-orientation classes for infants and toddlers and comprehensive Learn-to-Swim courses for individuals of different ages and abilities. Red Cross Learn-to-Swim courses are structured in a logical progression for aquatic skill development. As participants develop these skills, they become safer and better swimmers.
This class is designed to teach various components of swimming skills. Ranges will cover basic water skills (ex: floating, kicking, retrieving objects underwater, etc.) to more advanced skills (ex: front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, etc.). Participants will be tested and divided into swimming ability on the first day of class. Levels 1-6 are available. A current Rec Card is required to register.Participants must be in proper swim attire. Please bring a towel and sunscreen to each class.
